How to Pack a Kitchen Fast (Without Breaking Anything)
Kitchens take 4–6 hours for a homeowner and 60–90 minutes for a pro crew. Here is the system.
Supplies (for an average kitchen)
- 4 small boxes (dishes, glassware)
- 4 medium boxes (pots, small appliances)
- 2 large boxes (light bulky items only — never dishes)
- 1 dish-pack with cell dividers
- 1 roll packing paper, 1 roll bubble, 2 rolls tape, 1 marker
The order that actually works
- Purge first. Toss expired food, donate duplicate gadgets.
- Pantry → top shelves → counters → cabinets → drawers.
- Pack the coffee setup last and unpack it first.
Pro tricks
- Wrap plates vertically, like records, in dish-pack cells.
- Stuff glasses with packing paper, then wrap individually.
- Tape knives blade-down between two pieces of cardboard.
- Label every box: room + 3-word contents + "FRAGILE" if needed.
