What it's like living in Eagan
Eagan sits in northern Dakota County just south of the Minnesota River, wrapped by I-35E, I-494, and Hwy 77 (Cedar Avenue). Its position next to MSP airport and the 494 corridor made it a corporate-campus city, and that job base still drives a lot of inbound relocation.
Housing here is more mixed than in newer outer-ring suburbs: 1970s–80s split-levels, 1990s two-stories, big townhome tracts, and a large apartment inventory. It's a practical, well-connected place to live, and move logistics are generally moderate — nothing as tight as St. Paul's older streets, nothing as roomy as Lakeville's newest builds.

Split-level and split-entry homes from the late 1970s and 1980s are extremely common here, and they create the same move-day pattern every time: a short flight up and a short flight down from the entry, which slows large-item handling. Getting around & commuting from Eagan
I-35E north reaches downtown St. Paul in roughly 15–20 minutes; Hwy 77 and I-494 reach MSP and Bloomington in about 10–15. The Cedar Avenue Red Line BRT connects Apple Valley and Bloomington through the corridor, and Cedar Grove Transit Station serves express routes.
